Photo rules
Photos and notes help the next visitor see what a place is like today. They are public, and anyone who opens the place can see them. You can post a photo, a photo with a note, or only a note.
You can post
- Parks, trees, lakes, paths, gates, benches, playground equipment, and library or toilet buildings.
- People who are small in a wide scene, or seen from behind.
- Animals and birds.
- Dirty, broken or unsafe spots. These help other people, so they are welcome.
- A note about the place: what is working, and what can improve.
Please do not post
- Any child you can recognise, at any size, and any other person who can be recognised.
- Nudity, violence, or hateful or abusive text.
- Phone numbers, documents, screens, or a vehicle number plate.
- Ads or spam.
- A note that names or accuses a person, or has a phone number, an email address or a link.
- A photo of something that is not that place, for example the inside of a shop or a temple on a park card.
- Selfies, screenshots, memes, or photos that are not of a public place.
How it works
Your phone shrinks the photo before it is sent. This also removes the hidden location and camera data (EXIF) from the file. An automatic check, done by an AI model, looks at the photo, its small thumbnail and your note. It also looks at which place you picked. A note without a photo gets the same check. If it says no, the photo is not saved and you see a general message, not the detailed reason. The same goes for a note. If the check cannot run, the photo waits and the site owner looks at it.
You can add 5 photos a day. We keep a scrambled form of your network address (a salted hash) for 24 hours to stop abuse, and never the address itself. Uploading and reporting use a Cloudflare Turnstile check, which tells people from bots.
Report or remove a photo
Open the photo and tap Report this photo. When two different people report a photo, it is hidden at once, and the site owner reviews it.
To complain about a photo, write to support@nxtduo.com with the place name and what the photo shows. We remove reported intimate or abusive photos within 24 hours.
